Visiting the University of British Columbia
About the University of British Columbia
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for teaching, learning and research, consistently ranked among the top public universities in the world. As a global leader in sustainability and climate action, UBC uses its land, assets and utilities as a hub for sustainability innovation. The UBC Climate Action Plan 2030 (CAP 2030) puts the university on an accelerated path to net zero emissions for buildings and energy supply as well as to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions for extended impact areas over the next 15 years.
Where is the University of British Columbia?
Visiting Faculty would be based out of UBC’s Vancouver campus – located at the western tip of the Point Grey Peninsula in the city of Vancouver in British Columbia, it is home to more than 44,000 undergraduate and nearly 10,000 graduate students.
More than 400 hectares in size, the stunning campus is surrounded by forest on three sides and ocean on the fourth, and is just a 30 minute bus ride to Vancouver’s downtown core. The campus has been located on this site for most of its 100-year; a location that is the traditional territory of the Musqueam people.
